In the mid 1980s, on holiday from Bangkok, brother and sister Weera and Churat Sukantarat, discovered Krabi
(then an unknown destination) and fell in love with the incredible beauty and welcoming people they found here.
Over the course of many return trips, their astute business sense led them to invest in the area, knowing that
others would delight in sharing their experience of this magical place.
The first hotel they built, "Ban Ao Nang Resort", consisted of 20 rooms on the main beach road and
opened in 1988. As Krabi's popularity, and the renown of the resort grew, new buildings were added in 1995 and 2000,
providing a further 90 rooms for "Ban Ao Nang", now one of Ao Nang's best loved resorts, and part of the Best Western chain.
To build on this success, a new type of property was envisioned, one that would cater to the increasing demand for spa and wellness treatments in Thailand. Thus, "Ao Nang Bay Resort and Spa" was constructed in a picturesque spot, just 150 metres from the first hotel in 2001. Designed in contemporary Thai style to offer a maximum of comfort and relaxation, the resort also offered some of the first spa facilities in the Krabi area. It too is now under the umbrella of Best Western. Because Weera and Churat Sukantarat have always prided themselves for being at the forefront of tourism development in Krabi, it is no surprise that their next project was in the then undeveloped stretch of coast called Tubkaek Beach, now one of Krabi's most exclusive, upmarket destinations. The first phase of Anyavee Tubkaek Beach Resort opened recently, offering luxury villas and guest rooms, for long and short stays. At the same time as the Tubkaek project, the busy Sukantarats were also constructing a new hotel on the popular Railay peninsula, Anyavee Railay Resort.
Anyavee Railay Resort opened to the public in 2006.
This was the first large, high-quality family resort on the eastern shore of Railay.

Now, more than 20 years after they opened their first hotel, Weera and Churat Sukantarat are still as passionate as ever
about Krabi, and still as dedicated to opening the area to as many visitors as possible in the most sustainable way. On-going
projects include the new Anyavee Klong Muang Beach Resort , on the peaceful Ao Siew beach, as well as several property developments
for those who wish to stay in Krabi more long term. All the hotels and projects are managed by the Anyavee Resort Group, who keep
the original vision of the Sukantarats firmly in mind: the provision of quality accommodation for unforgettable holidays in Krabi,
the most beautiful corner of Thailand.
